Coating & Finishing
Voss performs a variety of in-house coating and finishing operations including industrial and MIL-Spec painting and dry-film lubrication.

Finishing quality is ensured through proper preparation and pretreatment of parts. Painting is done in a temperature and humidity-controlled atmosphere and
features a variable-speed, conveyorized paint line, enclosed spray booths with filtered air, and an in-line, infrared baking oven.
Large or racked parts utilize a 12 foot wide spray booth plus a walk-in, gas-fired convection oven.

Painting

Coatings applied for surface protection, identification or cosmetic purposes.

As a manufacturer of high-quality components for the aviation and aerospace industries, Voss is qualified for painting critical parts for the major companies within these industries. Voss also specializes in painting to automotive, marine and commercial specifications as well.

We are setup for application of solvent- and water-based paints; high solid paints; plural components; and many other specialty coatings.

Capabilities:

Experienced in commercial paint applications, as well as being qualified to a variety of special customer and MIL-Spec requirements.

Conveyorized line feeds parts into an enclosed spray
booth and through an infrared baking oven.

Dry Film Lubricant:

Application of friction reducing and Xylan coatings primarily to ease assembly and disassembly or release of joining components.

Qualified to military and various customer specifications for applications via air-dried and/or heat-cured, dry-film lubricants.

Passivation:

Removal by acid bath of iron particles on surfaces of corrosion resistant parts. These particles can result from tooling used to produce the parts via machining, stamping, rolling or other forming methods.

Voss performs types II, VI, VII & VIII passivation and is qualified to both ASTM-A-380 and AMS-QQ-P-35 specifications.

Finishing:

Facilities and equipment available for burr removal and/or surface treatment via vibratory finishing or garnet blasting.
Acid cleaning and etching of titanium materials.
